Tibetan Mastiffs in Kamloops
Our TM's are well socialized raised in the country and make great family pets as well as guard dogs.

My name is Amanda, currently I live on twenty acres with my two children, ten horses, six dogs, three cats and a rabbit.  We live in a small community by the name of Pritchard.
I have always had a love for dogs, and always did research on all the different breeds.  I was looking in the local paper one day and saw an add for Tibetan Mastiff puppies. I had never heard of that breed before so thought I would do a little research, at that time I had already had two border collies and a great Pyrenees.  When I had called the number in the add all of the pups were gone, so on a mission I would try to locate the nearest breeder.
Through my web surfing on rare breeds, Shanghai Tibetan Mastiffs kept coming up, I thought I would contact Sabrina and see what these dogs were all about. After a few phone calls and emails I decided to put a deposit on a puppy. It just so happened that a litter of puppies was born in May. (Which as we all know is a very strange time for TM pups to be born) I wanted a male and I wanted him for a pet.
As the pups grew, Sabrina sent me pictures and kept me updated on my little boy, because the kennel was 7 hours from where I live I put full trust in Sabrina in choosing the puppy that was right for me, I would meet the breed literally the day I was going to pick up my latest addition.
The time came to go and pick up my pup, I was so excited, heading down south where I had never travelled before. Everyone failed to mention that the interstate was crazy busy with way to much traffic for a country girl. That was an adventure of its own. As I am driving down I am visualizing this cute little black and tan puppy that is soon to be my own.
I arrive at Shang hai only to be greeted by about ten big dogs all barking at the fence, a little overwhelming at first, but a comforting thought to know I was bringing home my own guardian. I meet Sabrina and she takes me in to see my puppy, not at all what I was thinking, he was huge, that wasn't a puppy, I couldn't believe how big he was.
After a day of travelling back to Canada, Grissom was finally at his new home. From the time he arrived he just fit right in, what an easy puppy.
After about two weeks, I liked him so much I called Sabrina and told her that I really wanted another, this time it would be a female. When I was looking for breeders in Canada there weren't any on the west coast. I thought it would be an opportunity to bring more of the breed to Western Canada.
At the time the TM's were not allowed to be registered in Canada, if I wanted to show them I would have to show in the US. I believed that if I was going to breed them it was important for them to be shown and have Championship titles.
After almost a year of waiting, my female, Harlan, would be arriving, I had her flown into Vancouver to avoid the winter driving.  Now that she had arrived, I just had to wait until they were old enough to begin showing.
Our first show was in Seattle, Harlan took a 3 point major, quite impressive for our first time out. As I continued to show them under the guidance of Sabrina I decided it would be worth my while to leave the dogs with her to complete their titles.
After a successful show season last year Harlan and Grissom both returned home as American Champions.
After becoming  champions I got their elbows and hips OFA certified which is a requirement by my breeder, they both came back good and excellent. Now with all their health certifications and championship titles they are now ready for their first planned breeding. As an owner of TM's I am very fortunate to have Sabrina from Shanghai TM's as my mentor. She has been very helpful and knowledgeable, which has allowed me to do what is best for me and my dogs.
